GUILDERLAND — So much for Murphy’s Law.
An Albany man bringing his laptop in for repairs to Best Buy at Crossgates Mall found a place to park his Jetta right outside the electronics giant — on a Saturday, no less.
“I couldn’t believe it, bro,” said 26-year-old Shawn Murphy. “I thought for sure I’d have to park down near JC Penney’s, but I just took a shot and decided to cruise through the Best Buy lot first. When I saw the open space, I thought I was still buzzing from the night before. But, yah, it was totally for real. Pretty rad, right?”
Jeb Newsome, who was staring out into the lot while standing at the Geek Squad counter inside the store, said he would never have believed Murphy found a spot to park outside Best Buy had he not seen it with his own eyes.
“I had to do a double-take,” Newsome said. “I haven’t found a spot out there in six years. Today I circled the lot for three hours, just slowly cruising up and down like some kind of pervert stalker. I was starting to creep people out, so I eventually went and just parked at Dick’s.”
Murphy said had he listened to his girlfriend, he never would pulled off his feat.
“Yah, bro, my old lady was bitching at me and stuff, calling me stupid for pulling in to the Best Buy lot. But hey, look what happened. Gnarly, right? Effin’ eh…”
